Swiss Steak
Ingredients
4 round steaks (tenderized)
½ c flour
1 package onion soup mix
Salt and pepper to taste
3 T olive oil
1 c water (+¼ c if necessary) – for steak
1 box of fresh mushrooms
1 can mushroom soup
½ can of water
Directions

Pre-heat oven to 325.

Mix flour and onion soup mix as a dredge.

Season steaks with salt and pepper as per your liking (typically doesn’t need much extra salt).

Dredge steaks, coating very well.

Place olive oil in a medium pan on medium high heat.

Fry steaks, in batches, just until browned on each side.

Place steaks in a 9-13 oven-safe baking dish.

Add 1 cup of water.

Bake, covered, for 2 ½ hours (add ¼ c more water at 1 ½ hours if dry).

Remove from oven.

Slice fresh mushrooms on top of steak.

Pour mushroom soup and ½ can of water over mushrooms and steak.

Bake for another ½ hour.
